Description
The composition consists of five parts in which I explored my musical spatial ideas in different ways. Tonal spaces, timbre spaces, filled or empty spaces play a role here, but also aspects such as approach, distance and reverberation. When writing this music, I was interested in looking for all spaces solely in the music and ignoring spatial movements in the concert hall.
Last but not least, various differentiated damper movements play a role, which I developed together with Markus Stockhausen. The many possibilities of using mutes to open up sounds or make them distant make it clear to me: the trumpet itself is a space.
