J. Chr. Bach’s Sinfonia (Overture) in D major Op. 18 No. 6 (also identified as W. XC 1) is a four-movement orchestral work which is often referred to as a “Grand Overture”. The composition was posthumously published in 1781 or 1782 by William Forster, it is part of a set of six symphonies that showcase Bach’s influential galant style.

While some of the works in the Op. 18 set are for double orchestra, No. 6 is scored for a single orchestra. It is largely a compilation of music from Bach’s opera Amadis de Gaule, specifically its overture and two ballet movements.
