Description

Scherzo was completed in December 1944 in Brno (Czech Republic) and is an exciting and virtuosic showpiece aimed at the advanced bassist. There are musical and technical challenges across the solo register of the instrument, demonstrating the composer’s own prowess as a solo double bassist, with a rhythmic and vibrant accompaniment which adds greatly to the success of the piece. This edition includes piano accompaniments for both solo and orchestra tunings.
