The Variations for Solo Viol by Gordon Jacob is a piece written for solo viola, consisting of nine variations. The work was written in 1975 and dedicated to John White, who provided Jacob with technical feedback on the piece. The variations include a Saraband, March, Waltz, and Allegro alla Giga. The premiere performance took place in London at the Purcell Room, Royal Festiavl Hall on November 29, 1976.
