Description

Franz Schubert’s work Violin Concerto in D major D 345, also known as Konzertstück, is a single‑movement concert piece that begins with an Adagio introduction followed by an Allegro in a quasi‑rondo form; it was written in 1816 when Schubert was about 19 years old. As far as is currently known, Schubert appears to have composed this work without a clearly documented commission. It remained unpublished until 1897 when it appeared in the collected edition of his works. The piece is sometimes labelled a concerto, Konzertstück, or Adagio and Rondo, and its concerto label is considered slightly misleading because it lacks typical concerto sonata‑form development
