Composed by David Bertenshaw in 2006 Sonata for Oboe and Piano, officially titled Sonata for Oboe d’Amore and Piano, was written at the request of the Kenwood Heriot duo and  explores the darker sound and unique articulation of the oboe d’amore. The piece is in three movements and features a range of moods and textures, from lyrical and urgent to quirky and plaintive.
